NetApp - Deleting a LUN on OFSNetApp / SALCNetApp
Before deleting the LUN in NetApp you will need to delete any datastores you have created on it.
In VMWare goto Datastores, right click on datastore you want to delete and click on ‘Delete Datastore’.
If you created a folder for the Datastore that will also need deleting, right click on folder and click on ‘Remove from inventory’
You will then need to login to either OFSNetApp or SALCNetApp depending on where you created the LUN
In this instance I will be logging into SALCNetApp - https://salcnetapp/sysmgr/v4/storage/luns
URL for OFSNetApp is - https://ofsnetapp/sysmgr/v4/storage/luns
Once logged in browse to STORAGE then LUNS

In the list of LUNS in the main window locate and select the LUN you want to delete, in this instance I am looking for ‘lun_salc_vmware_sftest’.
Once LUN is selected click on ‘Delete’

You will then be prompted with the following:-

Select both of the options above and the click on ‘Delete’

It should only take a couple of minutes to delete the LUN, after that we then need to delete the Volume which was created when we created the LUN. Browse to ‘STORAGE’ then ‘Volumes’

You then need to locate the Volume which was created when you created the LUN (it will be named similar to the LUN you created)
The LUN i created was called ‘lun_salc_vmware_sftest’, the volume I am looking for is called ‘lun_salc_vmware_sftest’
Once you have located the LUN to delete you then need to click on the 3 dots (see below) and then click on delete.

You will then be prompted with the following options:-

Select all options and then click on ‘Delete’

This will then delete the volume which was created as part of creating a LUN
